Update from Happy Days Farm

Summer projects are in full swing!
First, our new fence is almost done! Β It wraps around the front of the coop, through the yard, and back about 25 feet through the woods. It is now enclosing almost 2,200 sq. ft. of yard and shaded woods. Our chickens and guineas think they are in heaven, and we can now breathe a sigh of relief as we can allow them out to play without fear of the neighborhood dogs running up on us all the time.

  1. Wow what a run your lucky chicks will have! I hope to expand our run now that we purchased the 1.3 acre lot next door. You guys are doing so much work, and it looks Fantastic!

  2. Looks great. How will you keep hawks from coming in the top or don't you have them there? How tall is your fence? Looks very nice and I'm sure the poultry are loving it. Would love to fence an area but wonder about height of fence to keep them in without wing clipping. Thanks for all the info.

  3. We actually do have hawks. We only let them out into the fenced area when we can be out there with them. Generally, they like to stay in the tree line, not out in the open grasses. The fence is probably about 6 ft. tall.
