Merry Christmas Y’all!!…… I’ve always started my Christmas decorating after Thanksgiving. This year, however, I broke my own rule! You see, we were invited to participate in the Michaels Dream Tree Challenge! It was so much fun! Now, I had to decide on a theme, and which room I wanted to decorate!

Since I’ve always used a small tabletop tree in my bedroom, I thought it would be nice to have a larger tree in this room to enjoy through the Christmas season, especially in the evenings! So romantic! First on the agenda was shopping!! We headed to our local Michael’s store to make our purchases. It’s always fun to be an early bird, finding out what’s new, and what the latest trends are! We came home with a load. Don’t worry, I always recycle my plastic bags!Christmas Shopping at MichaelsOf course pink is the color scheme in this room. We found some adorable pink ornaments for the tree! They didn’t have their wreaths displayed yet, so I found this white grapevine wreath and made my own. I used a jeweled garland, twinkle lights, faux snow, and some sparkly leaves from the floral department at Michaels.Making a wreath for christmasI wanted the mantel to look elegant and dreamy. I put down a layer of faux snow first, topped it with a soft, shimmery white garland, and layered it with another piece of the jeweled garland like I put on the wreath. I placed little pieces of sparkly stemmed leaves throughout, and finished it off with some twinkle lights and the sweetest sparkly reindeer. I purchased four crystal candlesticks, and timer pillars, placing sprigs of sparkly leaves as garland around them. I’ll be able to use the crystal candlesticks year round!!! Win! Win!Christmas Mantle White and PinkAfter the mantel was completed I placed the wreath there as a centerpiece. Now on to the best part, THE TREE!! We chose the 7 ft. Pre-lit Norway Slim tree in white. At first I was going to place it in front of the leaded glass window, between the two chairs, but then decided to place it beside the fireplace. I love it here!Michaels Dream Tree Challenge Pink Tree and MantleI carried out the theme, using the pink sparkly ornaments, puff balls of pink stems, jeweled garland, ribbon and faux snow in between the branches. I made these cute little “love knots” with some ribbon and white wire from Michaels. They are so easy to make. I attached them randomly on branches throughout the tree.Ribbon Love KnotsFor the tree topper, I simply made a bow out of different sizes and textures of pink ribbon, and placed some feathery and shimmery faux feathers from the floral section at Michaels. Oops, the pillows!! Every girl knows you need pillows to finish off a room!I didn’t want to purchase any new ones………I didn’t want to purchase any new ones, so I simply turned my existing pillows around, gave them a squeeze, and tied a pretty pink bow around them. White Ruffle Pillows with PInk RibbonsVoila! Beautiful and economical!! I think the Christmas decor in this room looks dreamy and elegant! I hope you will leave a comment below and let me know what you think. Remember, Jesus is the reason for the season!! Pink Christmas Dreams y’all!!!

  1. Absolutely love it, mostly that is is beside your fireplace and not in front of the windows which is what people typically do. Also thanks for the tips on bows and pillows.
