A Stress Free Brunch Party

|

Have you ever noticed how stressed people get when they think about planning a party?
I was asked to host a party for a friend’s small business. She said I didn’t need to do anything special, just coffee and donuts would be great. Of course, I wanted to add a couple extra touches to the gathering, but all-in-all, it worked out great. Plus, I loved the time. We invited people to arrive around 10 am, which helped it not take up the entire day. People could come, snack, spend some time getting to know each other, and then, they had the rest of the day to go about their business.

So, informal it is! Of course, I spent the evening before cleaning the house up a bit. Just the standard, dust, vacuum, and de-clutter. I went on a quick donut run to my favorite Krispy Kreme donut shop. (Yes, I did eat a hot one as soon as they handed it to me)
Then I went by the grocery store to pick up some fruit, juice, and the ingredients for
sausage palmiers. (recipe here)
This morning, I got up at 6:30. Ran out and cleaned the coop and did morning chores. Then came inside, got dressed, made the sausage palmiers, set up the fruit, and juice and coffee bar. I finished with a few minutes to spare. Everyone began arriving around 9:45.  We chatted and ate, and everything went great. We were done around 12:00. I put up the left-overs, washed dishes, and we are done by 1:00. So, basically, a little prep work the day before, and a trip to the store. One homemade dish, to add a personal touch, and everything else that was purchased was inexpensive, but tasty.
